Military:  Regimental / Battalion / Company

During the recent campaign in Iraq the Commander of the 1st Marine Division commanded that Division while riding in one HUMVEE that stayed 100 - 200 meters behind the Lead Battalion or the Main Effort.  He would communicate with his Regimental commanders via his iridium phone using veiled speech only...  Communications were poor in many areas with one Marine force, Task Force Tarawa, unable to communicate with its parent command through any means but  face-to- face direct verbal communications.

One Marine battalion was out of radio contact for 6 hours.  Problems with the VHF system caused difficulties at every level with the resultant lack of timely decision making in many instances.

The planning cycle was way behind, with higher headquarters issuing OPLANS and FRAGOs that were too late for commanders who had already stepped off on their mission.

Dealing with Fadayeen (irregular fanatic infantry) tactics had to be learned during the engagements.  Fortunately Marines adapt and over- come naturally... but some were taken by surprise, with the resultant  loss of Marine lives.

ADAPTING AND OVERCOMING REQUIRES SPLIT SECOND DECISION- MAKING... which requires practice under stressful and as close to real battlefield circumstances as possible.

Command Operations Center, LLC is an organization whose sole goal is to improve the Decision-Making abilities of your Command Staff at all levels.  We test your Staff's ability to make decisions under stressful conditions, in real life, real time situations.  We will bring our "TEST" to you.  Into your operations center, your conference room, or into the field if necessary.

Take a look at the Operations Pages via the link below or at the bottom of this page.  You are welcome to participate in any upcoming event we are involved in if your organization can benefit from our abilities.

Sr. Company Commander on the ground discusses situation with Air Operations Officer during simulation outlined on Operations Page just prior to Kilo Company landing on airfield at objective.  AH-1 Cobra is patrolling over objective.  Marines are using same tactical radios normally used in the field as part of the "real life test" of equipment and procedures Command Operations Center simulations are known for.

The staff at Command Operations Center, LLC places your Staff in simulated traumatic situations which force them to make decisions.  Our realistic simulations test your Staff's ability to communicate.   The simulations will test your Commander's ability to issue precise orders; based upon the information provided by his Staff, and the Company Commanders' ability to understand and react to those orders.  Your entire staff's ability to communicate up and down the chain of command is crucial on today's e-battlefield.  Since the fall of the Soviet Union there have been many "Little Wars"; small conflicts, involving many different combatants  throughout the world.  Effective, time critical Decision- Making depends on accurate information gathering and the precise orders required to mount an effective campaign at all levels of combat in any location.  Command Operations Center, LLC provides an effective tool which will allow you to sharpen your Unit's decision- making skills.  The potential loss of life in a combat situation, while you learn to make decisions, is not easy to justify under any circumstances.

The world is becoming more and more dangerous.  The individuals charged with the responsibility for making decisions in your UNIT  need to be able to practice making important decisions under the same conditions they will be faced with in real life, but  without the necessity of an actual crisis.  Command Operations Center, LLC provides a controlled simulated crisis which will allow your Officers and NCOs time to practice without the high speed metal that usually punctuates war.  Take advantage of our abilities, to improve yours.

The face of war has changed...

...have you changed with it?
